From July 22nd to August 2nd, Alessia Maranesi visited Erasmus Medical Center (EMC) in Rotterdam. There she collaborated with Sajad Mohammadi, a PhD candidate at EMC exploring the antimicrobial efficacy of antimicrobial peptides in combination with implantable biomaterials against specific pathogens. They also worked with Felipe Gama Franceschi, using bioluminescent bacteria to visualize biofilms on the same biomaterials. Throughout her stay, Alessia enjoyed engaging with the EMC team, and they concluded her visit with a pleasant dinner alongside Wendy Unger.
