On June 14, 2024 Erasmus MC organized the mini-symposium “Clearing our view on tissue microenvironments” to discuss novel approaches to study (immune) cell dynamics in tissues. A wide spectrum of topics, including tissue cytometry, effects of genetic polymorphism on prostate cancer, automated image analysis for in situ assessment of human placental macrophages and benefits of lung organoids as a tool were covered. Part of the symposium was open to researchers not directly involved in the SSBB network. Several DCs from different SSBB partners attended the symposium and were actively involved in the discussions about pushing the boundaries of what can be visualized and quantified in the most diverse tissue samples.
